SECOND CHARM FURNITURE: CRAFTING A MID CENTURY INSPIRED BED

We had the opportunity recently to custom made a king size bed for a young lady, not our first, though.  While she has space constraint in her private condominium, she wouldn't comprise on the bed.  It has to be a king size.  Loving mid century modern furniture, she wants a bed in line with the spirit of the retro 60's, yet relatively modern and stylish to fit her modern apartment.  Below is the chosen designed bed we specially crafted for Ms Shan.

We took great pride in the fact, that every wooden parts - from the main headboard to the base wooden strips - are crafted from vintage solid teak with beautiful woodgrains that only good old teak possesses. To ensure the stability of the tapered legs, characteristically a feature of mid century 60's  furniture, we added centre legs in support and harmony with the rest of the legs. The hanging slightly slated headboard is supported to the main frame by matt black solid metal specially crafted and custom made for the bed.  The foot end of the bed is slightly raised enough to hold the mattress. And the sides are fuss free without the typical ledge.  The overall outcome is a solid teak wooden bed yet with  lightness and simplicity of features, true to the mid century modern spirit and stylish for a modern apartment .

We can custom made queen, super singles and singles beds too with vintage solid teak.  But for those who prefer original vintage beds, we have several fine art deco and retro beds of  the 50's and 60's, all in beautiful solid teak. They will come with restoration. They are mostly queen, super singles and single beds.  Somehow, we hardly come across vintage beds in king size.

PLEASE NOTE:

1.  All our prices are in Singapore Dollars.  
2.  For bespoke pieces, we need a timeline of 1.5- 2 months. We will submit proper drawing,
     detailing specifications, to avoid misunderstanding.
3.  For restorations and reupholstery works, the timeline is also 1.5-2 months. Faster for loose
     upholstery works such as cushion covers and chair seats that can be hand carry.
4.  Delivery charge within Singapore is free for those above $2000.
5.  For our Malaysian customers, we do not charge transport from Singapore to our shop
     in Kuala Lumpur, but we do charge transport from our shop in KL to your home or office.
6.  For our overseas customers, outside Singapore and Malaysia, we will advise you on the   
     shipping costs, soonest possible. The furniture will come with proper packing materials to     
     protect it against long distance  shipment.
