DEAR ALL
Below are vintage retro and art deco pieces beautifully restored and upholstered. Quite a few have been taken up. Let me know if you like them as similar pieces may be available. I list too some of the new pieces that came in the last 2 weeks.
I hope the collections below will give you the vintage vibes, exciting enough to make them part of your everyday lives and strong enough to blend conservation, heritage and modernity all in. In this regard, let me share with you an email I received yesterday from a young Singapore scholar, who in between her research at Cambridge, must have found some time, to scroll down my blog and confirming buys online:
I really like your furniture. I am happy to know that by buying them from you,I'm in some way contributing to the livelihoods of people who are restoring thefurniture. If not, craftsmanship will slowly die out with time. Plus the furniture holds the history of the past owner. It feels like the furniture has some history and life story!!
i'll visit your shop soon when I'm back in singapore to see what else you've got.
Thanks again sharifa!

The furnitures are passed down to her, now. The fact that she is spending money restoring them and that they will travel the distance, indicates how much she treasures her family memories and is keeping them alive.
A few hours ago, this email arrived, assuring me how strong the vintage vibes are:
Hi,
I love your website/blog! All the furnitures remind me of my grandparents, parents and holidaying in government rest houses when I was young.
My parents house is full of furniture from the 1950's to the 1970's. Its all still being used but unfortunately the furniture is looking rather 'tired' now. It needs a good prepping up. My old wardrobe door has literally fallen off the hinges and the wooden planks on the door have come apart.
Can you recommend a restorer in KL/Selangor? (I live in Subang Jaya). Does your shop in Taman Tun take in 'restoring orders' as well?
Thanks and regards
Iris
