Dear All
Things slow down a bit for us during the fasting month. It's tough going around especially on hot days during this period. Still I cant resist the knowledge that somewhere, some place there are some good furniture, whether vintage or modern, waiting to be discovered. The imagination runs wild on days when I'm not out, and there is a certain restlessness, thinking what great miss there would be. And ah! what a joy when on one of these trips, you see that one lovely piece, as if waiting for you.
Below are some of my latest finds this week and newly restored pieces that come back from my restorer. Some of the pieces in Singapore will be out for restoration in Malacca on the first week of September. Some of the pieces booked by my KL customers should arrive in KL at the same time; Shah's retro bed, Mrs Teh's wing chair , Justin canvas screen and Prof Wan's dining chairs. The other way round, we will be be bringing back Sharon's retro sideboard and art deco turntable cabinet, Onn Peng's 1920's marquetry wooden sofa and planter's chair and Cindy's retro Queen size bed, to Singapore on the third week of September.
My favourite find of the day. Beautiful wing chair in mahogany wood and tapestry fabric. Some parts of the fabric have frayed away, all the more indicating a seasoned, well used chair. There's a certain warmth with such chairs that worth keeping them as is. And the best thing about the find, is that there are 4 of them, stucked among some cheap modern plywood furniture.
Oriental armchairs with carved dragon motifs on the back seat panel. 4 pieces available in Kuala Lumpur. Seats require new upholstery. Be nice to reupholster either in Chinese satin or raw silk.
4 pieces of retro chairs of the 70's. Made in Italy. 3 have been recaned, one still in original condition. Legs repainted. At SECOND CHARM, KL

Solid teak 1960's retro writing desk. It has been sometime since we got a retro writing desk like this. (L42 x W24 x H30 inches)
